About Us

Larry Alexander, PhD is a retired professor of business management at Virginia Tech.  He was inspired to write about these issues after watching his mother strive to stay in her own home.  Issues about security, driving and stair safety came up towards the end of her life.

Anne Alexander, RD, PhD is a dietitian and professor of nutrition at Radford University.  She firmly believes that taking care of your health starts with good nutrition.  It is in that spirit that she provides nutrition and food guidance.

Larry and Anne have been married 35 years and live in Blacksburg, Virginia.  They have two grown children and two dogs.  They like to bicycle and garden.

This newsletter is dedicated to our parents who valued their independence and used all resources they had to live as long as they could in their own homes.  It is to their determination, their adaptability and their resourcefulness that we dedicate this newsletter.
